39 years ago on 23 June 1977, the National Oil Services Joint Stock Company of Vietnam (OSC Vietnam), forerunner of the Oil Services Company of Vung Tau-Con Dao was established to serve the development of the infant oil and gas industry of the country. At that time, OSC Vietnam was the only company that provided the oil catering services and accommodation to international oil experts who came to help explore and exploit oil on the southern continental shelf of Ba Ria-Vung Tau.

In its early days, OSC Vietnam was a relatively small company having about 100 staff with different backgrounds. The key officials came mainly from the north and most of them lacked experience in the field of foreign affairs, whereas the majority of the foreign experts came from industrialized companies. The company’s initial assets included the Lam Son Quarter, the Rex Hotel, and some villas, all of which were so badly damaged during the war that they were not good enough for the service of the foreign experts.

After 39 years, OSC Vietnam has constantly grown both in scale and scope of business activities. Today, the company’s core businesses are Tourism, Oil Services, Construction and Real Estates. In addition to its head office in Vung Tau City, OSC Vietnam has its branch offices in Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh city. Currently, the company has 8 subsidiaries, 4 affiliates and 9 joint ventures which employ nearly 2000 staff. The company’s main establishments consist of 9 hotels (02 four-star hotels, 03 three-star hotels, 05 two-star hotels), 01 high-class serviced residences, 36 villas, 01 onshore oil services supply base and a great deal of modern specialized equipment, transports, stores and premises etc. 

Thanks to its solid and constructed strategy, OSC Vietnam’s brand has been strongly asserted during the past 39 years.
